MGD is dedicated to using organic and sustainable land care practices to sustain the health of the ecosystem and people that enjoy it. In nature, ecosystems sustain themselves with no intervention. We try to replicate this relationship in our landscapes. When assistance is needed, e.g., soil amendments, renewable and organic materials are preferred. Organically managed landscapes are designed to protect the diversity of the land and its surroundings – plants, wildlife habitats, people and pets.

Moon Garden Designs doing volunteer garden maintainance

Once a year, the MGD team donate their time and services to a not-for-profit organization in need of gardening services. Most recently, we volunteered at Community Harvest Project, a beautifully and passionately run farm providing fresh fruits and vegetables solely to those experiencing hunger. Previously, we’ve designed and built a sensory butterfly garden at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA and also volunteered at the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard, MA, which provides a community of support, therapeutic services, and education to facilitate healing for those experiencing cancer.
